GoodMeetings

30%+ AWS cost reduction

Overview

GoodMeetings is an AI-powered meeting intelligence platform processing real-time audio, analytics, and actionable insights at scale. The platform needed to move from one EC2 instance per meeting to a modern Kubernetes-based architecture.

EKS Architecture

Implemented Amazon EKS as the primary container orchestration layer. The environment was structured within a dedicated VPC using a tiered subnet model. Public subnets handled controlled ingress through CloudFront and API Gateway, while all compute workloads ran in private subnets across multiple Availability Zones.

Security Hardening

  • IAM roles redesigned using least-privilege principles.
  • Sensitive configuration data stored in AWS Secrets Manager encrypted using AWS KMS.
  • Remediated over 400 cloud security findings within two weeks.
  • AWS CloudTrail enabled for API activity auditing.
  • Security groups and subnet isolation to restrict lateral movement.

Observability Stack

  • Prometheus and Grafana for Kubernetes and node-level metrics.
  • Amazon CloudWatch for application logs, alarms, and service-level monitoring.
  • Fluent Bit for efficient log routing, significantly reducing log ingestion costs.
  • Custom dashboards for real-time monitoring of meeting load and processing latency.

Business Impact

  • 30%+ reduction in AWS costs in the initial phase.
  • Platform scalability doubled while eliminating per-meeting EC2 inefficiencies.
  • Operational effort significantly reduced through automated, self-healing DevOps workflows.
  • SOC 2 readiness achieved through comprehensive security improvements.
